  • Question papers for project work in Painting & Decorating, Dyeing & Bleaching, and Leather Goods Manufacturing & Repair are forwarded to candidates two weeks in advance.

Exam-Day Rules

  • Arrive at the centre at least 30 minutes before the paper starts.
  • Bring your printed photo card, HB pencils, biros, eraser, sharpener, mathematical set and an approved scientific calculator (where allowed).
  • Phones, smartwatches and any unauthorised material are forbidden — possession alone may lead to disqualification.
  • Write your name, index number and signature on every answer booklet.
  • Follow invigilators’ instructions at all times; non-compliance can attract malpractice penalties.

What is the difference between WASSCE for School Candidates and Private Candidates?
School Candidates (SC) sit the May/June series in their schools. Private Candidates (GCE) sit a separate Second Series later in the year. This page covers the May/June School Candidates timetable.
How long is each WAEC paper?
Durations vary by subject. Most objective papers (Paper 1) run 1 hour, essay papers (Paper 2) run between 1½ and 2½ hours, and practicals can run up to 3 hours. If the question paper shows a different duration, follow the duration on the question paper.

    Where the duration indicated on the question paper differs from that on the timetable, the one on the question paper should be followed.
  2. Question Papers to be Given Out in Advance of the Dates They Are to be Taken
    1. Visual Art 3
      1. Paper 3A – Instructions will be given to schools two weeks before the paper is due to be taken.
      2. Paper 3B – Question paper will be given to candidates two weeks before it is due to be taken.
      3. Paper 3C – Candidates will be required to execute their projects within six months of the examination year. The period of submission of art pieces will be communicated to schools by the Council.

Extra Time for Blind, Deaf and Dumb Candidates
Blind, deaf and dumb candidates should be allowed one and half times the time allotted to other candidates.
