WAEC GCE is the November/December WASSCE for private candidates — a second chance to sit O’levels outside school. Registration for the 2026 2nd Series is open and the PIN window closes Friday, 31 July 2026. The fee is ₦27,000 and the exam runs about 25 October–20 December 2026, fully computer-based (CBT).

- Walk-in candidates: ₦45,000 (register up to 24 hours before a paper)

1st Series vs 2nd Series — which one are you sitting?
WAEC runs the GCE for private candidates twice a year. Both carry the same WASSCE certificate; the only difference is when you sit and register.

How to register for WAEC GCE 2026 (2nd Series)
- Buy a registration PIN from an approved bank, accredited agent, WAEC office or registration point.
- Go to registration.waecdirect.org and start a private-candidate 2nd Series entry.
- Enter your details, choose your subjects and examination town, and upload a passport photograph.
- Complete biometric capture at an approved centre before the 2 August 2026 deadline.
- Print your registration slip and keep your examination number safe — you’ll need it to check your result.
About the WAEC GCE 2nd Series
The November/December WASSCE for Private Candidates — commonly called WAEC GCE — lets candidates who did not sit or did not pass the May/June series obtain the same certificate. All five WAEC member states take part: Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Liberia. From 2026 the objective papers are written fully by computer (CBT).
