Ghana sits its own edition of the WASSCE, with a “Ghana Only” timetable that differs from the Nigeria schedule and uses GMT (one hour behind Nigeria’s clock). WAEC Ghana runs two exams: WASSCE for School Candidates (SC) around April–June, and WASSCE for Private Candidates (PC) later in the year. This page explains both and points you to the official Ghana timetable and results.
WASSCE for School Candidates (SC) — Ghana
The SC series is for students finishing Senior High School. The 2026 Ghana WASSCE (SC) began in April 2026 with practical and project papers and ran into June 2026. Ghana publishes a country-specific timetable each year, so confirm your exact paper dates on the official Ghana schedule below rather than the Nigeria one.

WASSCE for Private Candidates (PC) — Ghana
Private candidates in Ghana who want to resit or add subjects register for the PC series. Registration for the 2026 Second Series ran from around 9 April to 28 August 2026, with the exam scheduled later in the year. Buy your e-voucher and register through the official WAEC Ghana channels, then download the PC timetable from waecgh.org when it is released.
Ghana exam times use GMT
Ghana is on GMT (UTC+0), so exam start times in Ghana are one hour earlier on the clock than the same paper in Nigeria (WAT, UTC+1). A paper that starts 9:30 am in Nigeria starts 8:30 am in Ghana. Always take the time printed on your Ghana centre’s timetable as final.
