The JAMB UTME syllabus is the official list of topics, objectives and recommended textbooks for each subject. The current edition is the July 2025 release on JAMB’s IBASS portal, and JAMB has not published a new one for the 2027 UTME, so it is the syllabus to study now. Every candidate sits Use of English plus three other subjects. The syllabus tells you exactly what JAMB can test in each one, so you study the right topics and leave out the rest.

How to Use the Syllabus
- Open the PDF for each of your four subjects and read the general objectives first. They say whether JAMB is testing recall, understanding or application.
- Copy the topic list into a study timetable and tick each topic off as you finish it. You can do the same online on each subject page at jambsyllabus.com, which keeps your progress on your phone.
- Pick one good textbook per subject from the recommended list. You do not need every title.
- Practise past questions topic by topic. Every UTME question maps to a syllabus topic, so a weak topic shows up fast.
Which Subjects Should You Pick?
Use of English is fixed. The other three depend on your course: Medicine takes Physics, Chemistry and Biology; Law takes Literature in English and two other arts or social-science subjects; Accounting takes Mathematics, Economics and one other social-science subject. Is the 2027 JAMB syllabus out?
JAMB has not announced a new syllabus for the 2027 UTME. The July 2025 edition on IBASS is still current as of 11 October 2026, and the PDFs above are that edition. We check the IBASS files weekly and will update this page if JAMB changes them.
Is the JAMB syllabus free?
Yes. JAMB publishes it free on IBASS, and the PDFs here are free to download. Nobody should charge you for it.
Does the JAMB syllabus change every year?
No. JAMB revises it occasionally, not yearly; the PDFs it currently publishes are dated July 2025. The topics are stable from one UTME to the next. The Use of English reading text is the one thing JAMB swaps every few years, and it announces that separately.
